A directory built for the companies in it
Most platforms serving Dubai’s trades charge for leads, rank by ad spend, and hide contractors’ phone numbers. 6wix does the opposite: publish the real details, put them at a permanent address, and get out of the way.
Why we built it
Dubai runs on small service companies. The three-person electrical outfit in Al Quoz, the cleaning team in International City, the flooring contractor with one van and twenty years of referrals. Most of them do excellent work and have no web presence beyond a Google Maps pin and a WhatsApp number.
That becomes a problem the moment a customer wants to check something before calling. Is this company licensed? Do they do epoxy floors or just tiles? Are they open on Friday? A Maps profile answers some of that, but it is not a website; it cannot be printed on an invoice, and it vanishes from search if the profile is suspended.
6wix gives each company a page at its own URL, written in plain language and structured so that both search engines and AI assistants can read it correctly.
How a listing gets published
We ask for the trade licence and check three things against it: the legal trading name, the expiry date, and the licensed activities. Where the activity list and the claimed services disagree, we go back to the company before publishing.
The licence-checked badge means we have seen a current UAE trade licence. It is not a quality rating, a guarantee of workmanship, or an endorsement. We do not inspect sites, and we do not test work.
How we rank companies
We do not. Listings appear by publication date within a category. No company can pay for a higher position, and we do not run paid placements dressed up as recommendations. If that changes, the label will say so on the page itself.
How we make money
The standard listing page is free and will stay free. Costs are covered by optional extras for companies that want more than a standard page — additional photography, multi-branch pages, and content work — and by contextual advertising that is clearly marked. We do not sell enquiry data.
What we do not do
- We do not take a commission on work booked through a listing.
- We do not resell the same enquiry to several companies.
- We do not hide or mask a company’s phone number.
- We do not publish user reviews because we cannot verify them.
- We do not scrape and republish content from other directories.
Corrections and removals
Anyone can report an error from any company page. Companies can ask for their listing to be removed at any time, for any reason, and we unpublish it within two working days. Details are on the contact page.
Where we operate
6wix is operated from Dubai and lists companies trading in the United Arab Emirates. Coverage is currently strongest in Dubai across nine trade categories: MEP, cleaning, painting, technical services, flooring, renovation, carpentry, shades and swimming pools.
